Top 10 Things To Do In San Francisco

mark March 25th, 2007

Leaving your heart in San Francisco isn’t a hard thing to do, especially at any of the following top ten venues.

Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf

The City by the Bay is a shopaholic’s paradise. It’s also the second most crowded city in the country (after Manhattan), a circumstance that has always made finding an inexpensive place to park your car somewhat problematic. Nonetheless, it has never stopped intrepid tourists from seeking out bargains, rain or shine. If you’re traveling with family, my first recommendation is Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf. They are within easy walking distance of each other and are renowned for their souvenir shops, seafood cafes and restaurants, street performers and art galleries. The most popular attraction at Pier 39, of course, is the colony of noisy sea lions that swam into the harbor one day many years ago and simply decided never to leave.

The two word noun that completely defines gambling is LAS VEGAS. It has become the dream destination of all gamblers and holiday seekers. The one place you can drain all the tension and if unlucky all the money is VEGAS. Set in the midst of the desert it makes an oasis worth reckoning. Offering free drinks and luxurious ambiances the casinos of Las Vegas are nothing short of wonderland. It’s so easy for a person to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the busy streets or overcrowded casino tables. One must be care full while in Vegas as you may loose more then you plan to earn.

You name it, New York’s got it. Let’s see, a trip to New York would naturally take weeks, if not months to complete and if you don’t go to the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, American Museum of Natural History, The Guggenheim and Madame Tussard’s Wax Museum, you’ve not even been to New York even if your plane landed into New York! And there’s really a lot more to see in New York.

Highlights of San Francisco

mark February 18th, 2007

We visited San Francisco last October. First time either of us had been there and we quickly fell in love with the place. Our hotel was the Grand Hyatt in Union Square, providing an ideal location for sightseeing and we felt close to the hustle and bustle of the city. We already had read a number of pocket guide books so were keen to do the “must-see” sites as soon as possible. Our stay was for 6 nights. We had originally considered doing 3 nights in the city then 2 days in Las Vegas but opted for all 6 nights here. We were glad we did as this proved to be a wonderful city. Continue Reading »
